Flu Vaccination Service

The Flu Vaccination Service is the provision of a flu vaccine, administered by our specially trained Pharmacist, to help prevent you catching flu. The Flu Vaccination Service is suitable for most adults. If you are interested in receiving the service, our Pharmacist will take you through a short series of questions to ensure that it is suitable before giving the vaccination. Lifelong immunity to the influenza virus is virtually impossible to achieve and therefore an annual vaccination is required to provide protection from the disease.

Chlamydia Screening & Treatment

If you have had unprotected sex you may be at risk of having contracted chlamydia. Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) which is normally symptom free, so you are unlikely to know that you have it. We offer a service which will provide you with information on STIs, advice on safe sex and a testing kit which allows you to take a sample at home to send to a laboratory to be tested for chlamydia. If you test positive you can then return to our pharmacy where we can provide you with medication to treat the infection.

Emergency Contraception Service

If you have recently had sex without using contraception, or you think that the contraception you did use might have failed, you may want to find out more about emergency contraception. If you act quickly (within 72 hours) emergency contraception can usually stop you getting pregnant. Our Pharmacist will just need to ask you some brief questions to check your suitability before you receive your emergency contraception and to check that you have got all the support you need. We'll also explain your next steps. (Do not worry, this consultation is free and confidential.)

Daily Living Aids

Some people who have problems with their mobility need daily living aids to help them with day to day activities. These aids can be prescribed by assessors who look at your needs and recommend products that may be of help to you. If you receive a prescription for a daily living aid we can dispense it for you and provide any information you need on how to use it.

The NHS Electronic Prescription Service gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to your pharmacy - by sending it electronically instead of the traditional paper-based method.
